Treatment and Recovery

Laser peels are typically performed in the office setting. The Arctic peel does not require anesthesia, while the Micro peel is typically performed with a topical anesthetic. Treatment may take anywhere from fifteen minutes for spot treatments to an hour or more. Recovery lasts up to two to four days and patients may need to apply an ointment like Vaseline or Aquaphor to protect the skin for the first one to two days. Deeper laser peels may take a full week to completely heal, and pinkness can last for weeks.
