Laser Vein Removal
For many of us, we have a need to remove annoying or unwanted veins from various parts of our body especially our legs. Lasers provide a quick and permanent way in which to accomplish this with little or no down time.
HOW DOES LASER VEIN REMOVAL WORK?
At Quintessa Medical Spa, we use a YAG laser, or the ClearScan® laser that uses infrared energy to treat unwanted veins or vascular lesions (e.g. leg spider vein.) The laser’s energy removes the unwanted vein by heating the skin and vein it to a level where it is broken down and then reabsorbed into your body. There is also an integrated cooling mechanism to aid in keeping temperature accurate and you comfortable.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT LASER VEIN REMOVAL?
While laser vein removal is virtually pain-free, some clients may feel a mild stinging when the laser pulse is delivered. We will generally begin treating the larger veins first and proceed to the minor ones during your session.
The treatment time and frequency will vary according to size and number of veins we are working to dissipate. More than one session or treatment may be required depending on the size and number of vessels being treated.
Most clients realize a significant improvement in 1-2 treatments — treatment intervals may occur in 4-6 week intervals.
You may resume normal activities almost immediately, but we recommend that you refrain from hot baths, hot tubs, or strenuous exercise for a day or two following your treatment.
We do not recommend laser vein removal for patient who are or have:
History of Skin Cancer
History of Skin Keloids or prone to scarring after a skin trauma
Active Infection (e.g. herpes simplex)
Use medication that is affected by light exposure
