Microdermabrasion | Milwaukee, WI
Microdermabrasion offers a unique, non-invasive, pain-free way to rejuvenate your skin and give it that healthier glow. Your skin will look and feel fresher! Microdermabrasion involves a mechanical exfoliation of the skin which removes dead and dull skin cells for a more vibrant, supple and youthful appearance. A number of common skin conditions can be treated such as age spots, line, wrinkles, acne scarring and more.
Candidates for Microdermabrasion
Candidates for microdermabrasion are looking to improve the appearance of the skin with minimal downtime. This is a good treatment for patients looking to improve minor scars, acne scars, sun damage, age spots, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, oily skin, blackheads and whiteheads. As with other cosmetic procedures, patients should be in good health with realistic expectations.
Microdermabrasion Treatment and Recovery
At Quintessa Medical Spa, we use the Diamondtome System® to mechanically exfoliate your skin without leaving particles or abrasives. The DiamondTome™ System is a tool which utilizes natural diamond chips attached to a specially designed wand to remove dead skin cells in a sterile, controlled manner – leaving your skin supple and vibrant. During this process, the topmost layer of dead skin cells are removed and vacuumed away without irritation. After the microdermabrasion treatment, we often apply Oxy-Mist® therapy and other skin care emollients to the skin to re-hydrate, oxygenate, and supply your skin with essential antioxidants to smooth the new surface, extend the softness and maintain healthy skin.
After the first treatment of microdermabrasion, your skin will look and feel smoother. Although skin may appear flushed immediately after treatment, any pinkness will dissipate within 10 to 30 minutes and a fresh, glowing look will appear. This is a very popular treatment performed to create a refreshed look before a special event. And, with additional treatments, your skin will continue to improve.
Benefits of Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion using the Diamondtome System® can alleviate and repair skin, treating a variety of common skin conditions including sun damage, age spots, fine lines from aging, acne scarring, blackheads and whiteheads, hyperpigmentation, and oily skin. Microdermabrasion can also aid in minor scar revision and help to promote overall skin rejuvenation whether separately or following cosmetic surgery.
The cost of microdermabrasion will vary based on several factors, including the size and number of treatment areas. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the average physician fee for microdermabrasion in 2011 was $141. The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) cited a slightly lower fee of $124 for 2012.
